Abdurrahman Unal, M.D. DABR

Dr. Unal is a Board Certified Radiation Oncologist who has practiced at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, a private practice in Salina, Kansas, Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Columbia University. Since 1988 Dr. Unal has successfully treated thousands of patients at the Harrisburg Cancer Center and the Lebanon Valley Cancer Center. He is currently the Medical Director of the Lebanon Valley Cancer Center and the Compassionate Care Hospice and Hospice For All Seasons.

Dr. Unal is married to Donalee and lives in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. They have one daughter, Kara, who is a public defender Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Unal enjoys taking walks with his wife and has a keen interest in the history of the near east and its implications for American foreign policy in the 21st century.

Paul Castro, Ph.D. DABR

Dr. Castro is a graduate of the West Virginia University and is Board Certified in Therapeutic Radiological Physics. He supervises all aspects of clinical physics support and quality assurance for patient treatment and medical linear accelerators. His areas of expertise include HDR brachytherapy, Prostate seed (LDR) brachytherapy, IMRT, and 3D CRT treatment planning with Corvus, Pinnacle, and Eclipse planning systems. Dr. Castro has developed the physics quality assurance programs for the Lebanon Valley Cancer Center, and established physics programs leading to American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) accreditation for cancer centers in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He is the Radiation Safety Officer at the Lebanon Valley Cancer Center and has been in clinical practice for 20 years.

Dr. Castro and his wife of 25 years, Marcy, have three children and he is an avid ice hockey fan.

Susan McCoy, RT (R) (T)

Susan is the Chief Therapist at the Lebanon Valley Cancer Center and is also the Dosimetrist. She works with Dr. Unal and Dr. Castro to develop treatment plans for cancer patients using the Eclipse treatment planning system and has been treating patients at the Lebanon Valley Cancer Center since 1989. Ms. McCoy has worked as a therapist since 1982 and has treated cancer patients at the University of Virginia, Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Polyclinic Medical Center, and the Lebanon Valley Cancer Center. In addition to her dosimetric and therapy duties, she finds time to volunteer with the American Cancer Society, particularly the Relay for Life at both the local level and national levels. She is a stakeholder with the American Cancer Society and a standing member of the Peer Review Committee for all grant applications.

Susan lives in Elizabethtown with her husband of 28 years, Steve. She has two sons, Brett and Aaron, who have deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan with the United States Marine Corps. Both are returning to Lancaster County to complete their college education.

Brandee has been a therapist for 18 years and has been employed at the Lebanon Valley Cancer Center since 1995. Her many years of expertise in radiation therapy allows her to oversee both therapy and simulation. She oversees treatment, CT simulation imaging, and individual patient treatment quality assurance functions. Additionally, her experience in health care management uniquely qualifies her to manage all aspects of patient care and allows her to assist Dr. Unal and Dr. Castro in the data collection aspects of patient management for the evaluation of the efficacy of therapy regimens.

Brandee has been married to her husband Brian for 14 years. They have a daughter, Cassady who is involved in sports and dance.

Amber Donbach, RT (R) (T) BS

Amber began her career with the Lebanon Valley Cancer Center in the fall of 2011. Although a recent radiation therapy graduate, Amber has been instrumental in the implantation and utilization of the new technology employed at the Lebanon Valley Cancer Center, including IMRT and IGRT. Amber lives in Harrisburg with her boyfriend, Brent, and they have two Bullmastiff dogs, Thor and Moki who frequently spend time socializing with our patients. Amber volunteers with the Mastiff rescue program. Amber is an avid Phillies and Miami Dolphins fan.

Lindsay is from Drexel Hill where she resides with her family. She is one of six children and has an identical twin sister. Lindsay completed a dual Bachelor’s program with a degree in Allied Health at Immaculata and a degree in Radiologic Sciences from Jefferson. She was a member of Immaculata Women’s Basketball team. In her spare time she enjoys reading, exercising and spending time with her family and friends.
